A 17-year old teen in Troy, NY was suspended after Lansingburgh school officials discovered a teen was keeping a small pocket knife in his car's survival kit.Mathew Whalen, a senior of Lansingburgh High in Troy, NY said he stocks his car with a sleeping bag, water, ready-to-eat meal and the small knife. Whalen received the knife as a gift from his grandfather, a police chief in a nearby town.
Troy school districts have a zero tolerance when it comes to weapons, and any type of weapon found leads to a suspension.
