redsn0w 0.7 download to jailbrreak, unlock iPhone OS 3.0 on windows

Windows users can now jailbreak and unlock their iPhones with redsn0w 0.7. iPhone Dev blog has now released redsn0w for both windows and Mac, to jailbreak and unlock iPhone 2G, iPod touch and iPod touch 2G.


Unlike Pwnage, redsn0w is a multi-platform jailbreaking and unlocking tool on windows and Mac OS X for iPhone 2G (original iPhone), the iPhone 3G (but not the 3GS) and also the iPod touch (first and second generation). Bulike Pwnage tool for Mac, redsn0w also has a few exceptions:

  • redsn0w 0.7 shall not be used, if you are using a 3G iPhone with yellowsn0w and rely on yellowsn0w to obtain cellular service. You shall wait until ultrasn0w is released.
  • redsn0w 0.7 will NOT work for the iPhone 3GS.

But iPod Touch 2G users can use Redsn0w to jailbreak and unlock their devices and if you own an original iPhone 2G, Redsn0w will unlock it too!!! Thus redsn0w be a tool on windows and Mac for Original iPhone (1st Generation), Original iPod touch, iPod touch 2G and the iPhone 3G.

Apple Says iPhone Jailbreaking is Illegal

This hasn't been won in any court, and there is a disagreement about whether or not it will become legal. Apple is trying to have a law passed about jailbreaking your iphone but it probably will not stick.

The big issue is people jailbreaking the IPhone to use outside applications that are not owned by apple.

Now this is just pure greediness! If a law like this stuck, that would mean if you bought a Dell Computer with Windows Vista already installed you wouldn't be allowed to remove it and use Linux? Next thing you know, after you buy a new sports car and decide to up the horsepower you not going to be allowed to.

After paying all that money for an IPhone it is yours, just like the new PC and the new sports car.
